The light is thermally protected and listed for damp locations making it ideal for use in a variety of applications in new construction, remodels, or suspended ceilings. The IC housing allows you to install the light in direct contact with insulation, making this light kit ideal for top-story installations. In addition, direct contact with insulation results in energy-efficient minimization of heat loss around the can, which can potentially save money in heating costs. It is also approved for through branch circuitry (connecting fixtures in a series). A combination of several recessed light kits can be used to brightly illuminate an entire room, or single lights can be strategically placed as task lighting in areas such as the kitchen, home office, or laundry room.p Captive bar hangers which expand to accommodate joist spans of up to 24 inches are included for suspended ceilings or new construction.
